What we can all learn from the Dollar Shave Club

Earlier I wrote about how to save money with one simple rule. Well, imagine being on the other end of the counter, selling fixed costs. I can only imagine the wealth that the genius of an entrepreneur who created Dollar Shave Club now has for figuring out that guys could be easily convinced to pay a premium to have dirt cheap razors mailed to them every month.

Dollar Shave Club will now face a daunting amount of competition from copy cats like Harry’s to incumbent razor companies like Gillette creating their own version of the club, but the point stands that they turned a variable cost into a monthly fee.

The bank loves predictable revenue. Your health will love predictable revenue. The best ideas involve predictable revenue.

What’s the dollar shave club of the future? What hasn’t yet been turned into a fixed cost?
