Five tool player: an athlete who excels at hitting for average, hitting for power, baserunning skills and speed, throwing ability, and fielding abilities.
Baseball is a difficult game. Some athletes have the speed to defend but not the throwing arm or sense of how to position themselves or how to read the ball off the bat. And countless major leaguers can hit, but not always hit for power AND with high average.
The player whose talent touches all facets of the game is called a five tool player. Sometimes they're overlooked for being so well rounded because there is always a player with ability in a single area stands out more (such as a home run champ that can't run to save his life).
In life, it's very similar. Those that are multi-talented are exceptional contributors to a team but often overlooked because of their broad range of abilities.
The best entrepreneur, the most likely to succeed, is the five tool player. The biggest threat to an entrepreneur is their glaring weaknesses.
It's wise to know your gaps before you go into the unknown.
