This month I need to decide whether Frontier is going to host a conference. I’m going to put on a small one this Summer for Entrepreneurial thinkers (details to come at recharge.camp), but I struggle with the concept of larger one-day events.
Aren’t they too broad for true knowledge transfer to occur?
Aren’t they too big for true networking to happen?
Aren’t they priced too little for life-lasting memories and too much for a casual drop in?
Yes, conferences are terrible. Take one person out for lunch, and ask good questions. Then bring a group and share the knowledge.
What you need is a trust network. And, a conference isn't where they're at.
